The mother-son duo found murdered at home was in 2012 attacked by hoodlums reportedly sent by the Jitendra’s in-laws. Jitendra’s wife Pratima was staying at her parents’ residence in Bhajanpura because of strained conjugal relations. After Pratima passed away because of prolonged illness, Usha and Jitendra were attacked by around 15 men at their residence on Holi in 2012.
Police was informed and a compromise was reached between both parties. Pratima’s parents had filed a case of dowry and harassment against Usha and Jitendra after their daughter’s death. A case was registered at Bhajanpura police station. Usha and Jitendra had two more flats in the same building which they had given out on rent and was their source of income. Usha has four daughters, who are married and settled. The family has its roots in UP’s Hardoi.
