Uttar Pradesh BJP president laxmi Kant Vajpayee requested the State Governor to intervene in revoking the suspension of Noida sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Durga Shakti Nagpal.
“If his Excellency feels the inability to do so, then he is empowered to recommend the dismissal of the Samajwadi Party Government to the Union Government. If the Governor ignores this issue, BJP is bound to take it on the roads,” Vajpayee said, adding that the party will launch an indefinite agitation.
On his way to Noida to participate in the protest rally against the suspension of the SDM, the State president said that the Akhilesh Yadav Government has been exposed by claiming that the SDM was suspended for demolishing the mosque wall.He asked how many officers have so far been suspended for such acts during the outbreak of 37 riots under this regime.
Even lucknow DM Arvind Yadav was not suspended despite the devastation of several shops in Hindu-Muslim riots during his regime. But here the CM directly ordered suspension of the SDM.Vajpayee’s statement was further backed by the District Magistrate’s report and the lIU report which does not indicate her involvement in bringing down the wall.“The BJP would go for an indefinite agitation. The order to suspend the SDM was nothing but to appease the Muslim vote bank. No report indicates the role of SDM in demolition of the disputed wall,” he said.
