The Delhi BJP on Tuesday demanded from the Delhi Government to revoke the clause that makes it mandatory for RWAs to pay `50,000 per acre to the local bodies for approval of layout plans of unauthorised colonies. Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said the three BJP-ruled corporations would bear the entire cost of layout plans if the Government decides to withdraw the clause.
Meanwhile, citing the CAG report on regularisation of unauthorised colonies, the party demanded a probe into the matter. The Opposition party alleged that the Congress-led Government has committed massive irregularities in the name of regularisation of unauthorised colonies.
“Provisional regularisation certificates for 1,600 unauthorised colonies issued by the Delhi Government have been found to be in blatant violation of Supreme Court directives. The CAG report clearly shows that no development work was carried out in these colonies even though the Delhi Government claims it has spent `2,800 crore on the same. Moreover, the Government has also violated Supreme Court’s orders as the boundaries for colonies were marked without due verification by the revenue department,” Goel said.
He further said that deserving beneficiaries were ignored as the certificates were issued without proper verification.
