'Review call on new licences to restaurants for serving liquor'

Published on:

leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta on Wednesday   demanded Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to re-evaluate AAP Government’s decision of easing the process of issuing licences to restaurants wanting to serve liquor.

“This move to issue new licenses puts a question mark over Delhi Government’s desire to promote prohibition, which is a victory of restaurant owners and defeat of Delhiites since this relaxation will promote drinking habits among Delhiites, especially youth” said Vijender Gupta.

Gupta also added that “The AAP Government is making fun of Mahatma Gandhi’s call to adopt prohibition which has miserably failed on this font. On the other hand where the Government has failed to open 500 schools and 20 new colleges, 200 crores were spent on expenditure whereas just Rs 7.76 lakh on prohibition which is quite regrettable”.
