A private tuition teacher was arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl in September when she had visited his house for tuition classes. Police have arrested the accused after the medical examination of the victim confirmed sexual assault. The accused was produced before the concerned court and has been sent judicial custody.
Police said the victim revealed the incident to her mother on Tuesday after which the matter was reported at the civil lines police station. The accused teacher has been identified as Yogender Vashisht, a resident of Patel Nagar. He has been arrested under section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), and section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after the mother of the girl lodged a complaint. Police said the victim was is a Class XII student and has been been attending Vashisht's accounts classes for the past few months.
"On September 13 the accused had called the girl for classes at a time when nobody was present at his house. Taking advantage of that, the accused sat near the student and started touching her inappropriately. When the girl tried to resist, the accused threatened her and sexually assaulted her," the police said.
The accused had installed secret CCTV cameras at his house to film the act. He was also blackmailing the girl that if she revealed the incident he will upload the video on several social media platforms. He also threatened the victim with dire consequence if she disclosed the incident to anyone, the probe team said.
Thereafter the shocked girl attended the class till November but on December 25 the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother, who immediately came to the police station and lodged a complaint," said Subhash Boken spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
