To save herself from getting scolded by her parents for coming home late, a 15-year-old girl claimed that she was allegedly gangraped by four unidentified persons in front of her male friend in Outer Delhi’s Begumpur area. However, after interrogation of the girl the police found that she was raped by her boyfriend. The minor girl has sustained severe injuries on her body and is stated to be critical.
later in the day, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishipal said that “the minor girl was raped by her male friend. Following which, the police arrested the 22-year-old Manish on the charges of rape.”
Initially, the minor girl had cooked up a story of her abduction and gangrape to save herself from getting caught that she was spending time with her boyfriend. On Monday morning, she informed her mother about the ordeal, said police sources.
As per the girl’s version to her family members, on her way back home after buying groceries two men abducted her and took her to a nearby cremation ground area where they raped her. This happened at around 9:30 pm on Sunday night. After having been raped, the minor girl claimed, the torture did not end just there.
The two accused had kept her hostage at an isolated stretch and called in two of their friends who committed the heinous act on the girl. Having suffered grievous injuries on her private parts, the girl lost conscious. It was only when she regained consciousness that she went back to her house. Police said that the incident came to light at around 10:30 am on Monday.
The family of the girl took her to the Begumpur police station where the police registered a case. Medical examination of the minor girl confirmed sexual assault.
However, investigators on scanning the CCTV footage of the cameras of cremation ground where the minor girl claimed she was gangraped found out that no such thing had happened on that stretch.
“On questioning the victim, she finally confessed that when she was returning home after buying groceries in the Sector 22 market she met her male friend. They then both went to a nearby park where they got intimate. As they got late, she cooked up a story that she was abducted and gang raped to escape her parents’ scolding,” said a senior police official.
