A resident of Noida has written a letter to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister alleging lack of action by the Noida Police. The victim claims that his wife was gang-raped a day before Karwachauth at their residence in Sector 49 of Noida.

He further alleged that when he intervened, he was brutally thrashed by the miscreants. The victim had also approached the local police station, but the police personnel in-charge refused to mention rape charges in the FIR and also tore the complaint.

The accused are allegedly high and mighty. Their families have threatened the victim to withdraw the case, hence, the victim with his family had to move to a safer place.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Kumar Mishra said the actual case was not in his knowledge.“I have no idea of the exact incident. I will call the victim to my office so that I can understand the entire. I assure that under appropriate Sections, case would be registered and stringent action will be taken against the culprits,” said Mishra.

A day before Karwachauth, three miscreants barged into the victim’s house and raped her. “The victim’s husband was near his home. The local village youth, in inebriated state, barged into his residence and on finding his wife alone, they raped her. Meanwhile, the husband reached home and saw his wife being raped by three persons,” said a family friend of the victim.

“The accused brutally thrashed him, when he attempted to save his wife from the clutches of the miscreants. They them fled from the scene,” he added.

“The victim and her husband went to the womens’ police station and met the station in-charge, but the police personnel paid no heed. later, they went to Sector 49 Police Station to lodge an FIR against the culprits, but they too refused to lodge a complaint under Section of rape. In fact, the policemen tore the complaint by saying that the FIR would not be lodged under rape sections. Police only lodged FIR of assault,” the family friend said.

Fed up with the behaviour of the police, the victim’s husband approached the Chief Minister through sending a letter, but he has no hope that stringent action would be taken.
