Rajiv Gandhi row: Maken calls for special session of House

Published on:

Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government should immediately call a special session of Delhi Assembly to remove the name of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi from the record of the Delhi Assembly proceedings.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders of the party do not know the sacrifices and contribution of Rajiv Gandhi as a Prime Minister for the development of the country, he said.

Maken said that it was Rajivji who gave voting rights to 18-year-old youth and introduced computer learning in the country. "The Delhi Government should first call the 2002 Gujarat riots as "genocide" before terming the 1984 riots as "genocide", he said.
