Even as rain hit the Capital late on Tuesday afternoon, it was hardly any respite from the sultry weather. The rain only worsened the condition pulling humidity levels as high as 83 per cent. The MeT Department has predicted similar weather conditions on Wednesday with the possibility of light rain.

“Delhi witnessed light rainfall on Tuesday. The rain, however, did not occur across the city resulting in several areas remaining dry,” said an official in the MeT Department. According to the MeT Office, the city received 3.4 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm Tuesday. The maximum temperature settled at 36.3°C, two notches above normal and slightly up from Monday’s 35.8°C. The minimum was 29.4°C, three notches above normal. The humidity level oscillated between 83 per cent and 62 per cent, making life uncomfortable for city dwellers.

For Wednesday, the weatherman has predicted a generally cloudy sky with possibilities of light rains and thunderstorms in some parts of the national Capital. “The maximum and minimum are expected to settle around 36°C and 29°C respectively,” the weatherman said. On Monday, the minimum temperature was 26.5°C.
