After the arrest of actress leena Maria Paul (25) in a joint operation by Delhi Police and Chennai Crime Branch, several teams of South District Police are carrying out raids.

Police believe Paul’s friend and partner Balaji, alias Sekar Reddy alias Sukesh Chandrasekar, who managed to give the police the slip, must be hiding in the city itself. To dupe people, Balaji would pose as son of some influential politician or Government official, assuring them to facilitate big deals or a Government contract.

later, police recovered nine luxury cars including Royal Royce Phantom, Nissan GTR, Aston Martin Vintage, Hummer 2, Audi A-4, Range Rover, Mitsubishi, BMW 530 D, land Cruiser and 81 expensive Wrist watches from a farm house in South Delhi's Fatehpur Beri, where he was staying with Paul.

Police said few years ago, Balaji had cheated his landlord in Bangalore of more than `1 crore, by posing as a close friend of Nikhil Gowda — former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy's son.

Several times he posed himself as the son of various Ministers, including TR Baalu and Karunakara Reddy. Sukesh was just 18 years old when he was arrested for impersonating as Nikhil Gowda's friend.

A dropout from Baldwin Methodist College, Balaji was again arrested by the Chennai Police in 2009. At that time, police had recovered a Ford Fiesta, a Maruti Swift, a Toyota Innova, a Skoda and valuables worth `44.5 lakh, from his possession. "Balaji would contact companies across the country after going through the websites of various Government bodies and checking for tenders," an officer said.

Balaji always travelled in a car fitted with a beacon light and emblems of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Governments.

He even had a posse of

private security guards, dressed as policemen and armed with automatic weapons. Balaji had also put flag of a leading

political party on his car.
