Taking a tough stand against the continued occupation of AAP convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a Government pool house at Tilak lane flat, the Ministry of Urban Development has fixed deadline and directed Delhi Government’s PWD to get the house vacated by July 30.

Kejriwal, who resigned as Chief Minister of Delhi, was allotted the three-bedroom C-II/23 flat at Tilak lane in lutyens Zone by the Ministry of Urban Development in January as the Delhi Government had made a request for a suitable accommodation in Central Delhi for its Chief Minister.

Government sources told The Pioneer that Directorate of Estate of Ministry of Urban Development in its written order, fixed deadline for Kejriwal following which they will evict AAP leader forcefully if he does not vacate the house by July 30. According to sources, the Ministry has also directed the Delhi Government to hand over the flat by the same day.  Kejriwal was paying a rent of `85,000 per month for a flat at Tilak lane.

Kejriwal had sought an extension of stay in the house until his daughter’s Class XII examinations got over in July.

His Government lasted for just 49 days and he continued to live in the same house even after that it led to a lot of criticism.
