A body of private schools of Haryana has urged the State Government to reopen junior classes in the State. They said if the Government didn't take a call then they would be forced to open schools for all classes on their own.

Keeping the Covid pandemic in view Haryana has so far allowed only offline classes for students of classes 10 to 12. A bunch of private schools and parents in Gurugram have demanded that junior classes be reopened at the earliest.

Haryana Sikshan Sansthan Sangthan, State president, Dr Yashpal Yadav said that if the Government did not accept their demand, then they will open all classes on their own.

There are reports that several private schools have already started calling students of all classes to attend casses in schools.

"Earlier we submitted a memorandum to the Gurugram Deputy Commissioner (DC) and even raised our concern before the District Education Officer (DEO) to start offline classes for the junior wing but we did not get a satisfactory response. We will soon approach Haryana Chief Minister if the schools for all classes are not reopened at the earliest," Yadav said.

“The parents have realised that their children will suffer a lot if the schools are not opened with immediate effect. The learning gap between the children and physical appearance before the teacher has already widened a lot. All the children are not capable to attend online classes so It is quite necessary to open schools in full strength in favour of children future," Yadav added.

“The parents, teachers, and students have a sense of resentment due to the closure of schools. A case of Covid-19 is declining day-by-day, now what the government is waiting for. The Government should take an immediate decision regarding the opening of junior classes. Also, It is wrong to open everything and just keep the schools shut," said Rekha Yadav, Chairman, CD International School.

Meanwhile, a senior official of the education department requesting anonymity said that "The Covid pandemic is declining, but it has not gone away completely. Several students of classes 10-12 have been vaccinated. But there is no vaccine for the students of junior classes.”

However, the Directorate of Information, Public Relations & Languages Department in a tweet said, "Schools in Haryana starts from Feb 10 for Class 1 to 9. However, COVID-19 appropriate behaviours will be strictly followed in classes. He added, parents who want to send their children to school can do so. Online classes will also continue."
