In her statement recorded with the assistance of an NGO, a 13-year-old victim told police that the accused Sameer Ahmad (34) would threaten her with a gun and molest her at his residence.
The girl is a Class V student in a private school in Gokulpuri area where the wife of the accused is a principal. After intimidating her, Ahmad would take her to his residence adjacent to the school where the victim would be molested. The victim said the principal knew about this but chose to keep quiet. The incident was reported on Thursday morning.
After the girl narrated her ordeal to her parents, they lodged a complaint with police and the girl was taken for a medical exam on Thursday afternoon. Police also recorded her statement with the help of an NGO counsellor and based on the victim’s statement, a case was registered under relevant Sections of the IPC and several Sections of provisions of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Gokulpuri Police Station of North East Delhi, but no arrest has been made so far.
“The incident came to light when the victim refused to go to school on Thursday morning. On being asked the reason by her mother, she broke down. After her parents consoled her, she finally told her mother that the husband of the school principal had been molesting her for the last 15 days and also threatened to kill her father if she refused to comply,” a senior police officer said, adding that the victim also alleged that the school principal was aware about this.
The victim alleged that during the school hours, the accused Sameer allegedly took her to his home, adjacent to her school and molested her at gunpoint. Meanwhile, angered with the incident, the victim’s family members allegedly barged into the house of the accused, Sameer and thrashed him. An FIR was registered following the statement of the family members of the accused.
