In its bid to impart free of cost training to young students of Government-run schools in music, dance, theatre, fine arts and craft activities,  the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government will now rope in private players for the same. Under the scheme, private academies, individuals or Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) will have to provide free of cost training to students of the schools of the Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi Government.

“They can also impart training to private students on chargeable basis but the ratio should be maintained at 50:50. The quality of training for Government school students will have to be at par with the non-Government school students,” said a senior Directorate of Education official.

“Under this scheme, only minimum basic infrastructure available in schools will be provided to the selected private players and on the condition that there will not be any defacement, damage or alteration in the property of the school. Otherwise they will have to pay recoveries for the losses,” added the official.

The individuals, private academies or NGOs will only be able to use the school allotted for training purpose or in-house competitions and it will not be allowed to be used for other purpose such as competitions, cultural functions etc, under any circumstances.
