leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Friday urged lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung to order high-level enquiry into allegations levelled against the Central Government by Deputy CM Manish Sisodia that it is not allowing it to function properly by not posting adequate number of officers to run the Government in the light of clarification given by the Union Home Ministry.
Gupta said the Kejriwal Government has already squandered lakhs of rupees by publicising false claims by giving full page advertisements. "It went to the extent of organising Press conference alleging under-staffing of officers affecting the functioning of the Government. All the allegations of the Deputy CM have come out to be baseless. We demand action against him and the officials for wasting public money on false claims. The money spent thus should be charged from Dy. CM and the officers responsible for spreading lie," said Gupta.
Gupta said the Central Government has clarified that the Delhi Government has 83 sanctioned posts of senior officers.
"Against this the Union Government has posted 86 senior officers in the Delhi Government. There are 450 adhoc officers working in deferent departments. Their strength is not counted. These officers are discharging their duties as required by the Government. As per the Union Home Ministry, there are about 180 officers posted in the Government. Manish Sisodia is, therefore, wrongly claiming that there are only 65 officers posted in the Delhi Government," he added.
