Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has directed all Head of Departments (HoDs) to prepare an inventory of their departments' assets and properties. The directions came at a high-level meeting of HoDs and Secretaries at Delhi Secretariat.
It is understood that the inventory will help the State Government to make a plan in future. Currently, the departments have no clue about their assets, properties and vacant land. Sources said some departments, including three municipal bodies, are seemed to be reluctant to follow the order.
Earlier, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia directed all HoDs to list gram sabha land in the geo spatial department for mapping so that land could be handed over for constructions of schools, hospitals, primary health centres, bus depot, and remaining land to be transferred to Revenue Department so that the same could be protected and developed as per requirement.
Officials said mapping of entire Delhi Government assets is needed to fulfill the promises of the AAP Government. For instance, the AAP Government wanted to construct 500 schools in the next five years so that it needed huge land for construction of schools across the city.
Similarly, it want to open mohalla clinics and also want to make allotment of offices to its MlAs, it needed land in every constituency. "Some tentative list has been prepared by the local MlAs," said officials. Besides, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is also planning to notify 95 villages as development area of the authority.
