Power Minister Satyendar Jain on Tuesday wrote a letter to Reliance ADA Group Chairman Anil Ambani over the performance of Reliance-backed BSES asking him to meet immediately with a concrete road-map to improve the power situation in Delhi. The letter said the BSES is “alleged of corruption and financial irregularities” and has “failed” to meet the expectations of the people of Delhi.
Meanwhile, BSES officials said they have received no such letter from the Government so far, and hence cannot comment.
Calling the performance of BSES “atrocious”, Jain has written that they were expected to bring down tariff and install a world class power system in the Capital, but failed in doing so.
“There are also allegations of corruption and financial irregularities including siphoning off funds by your companies. Some of these allegations have been corroborated in CAG’s draft report and in earlier DERC orders… You might have had a cozy relationship with previous Governments in Delhi at the expense of public interest, kindly note that the new Government is fully committed to protecting the interests of public and their welfare. In order to do that, the new AAP Government will not hesitate in taking strong decisions,” Jain has written in his letter.
