Police raid CM's house, AAP fumes

Searches inside the Chief  Minister's residence by the Delhi Police on Friday, did not go down well with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Its leaders accused the Delhi Police of  acting like a bully at the behest of the Centre by entering Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence "illegally" and said the action was aimed at "insulting and humiliating" him. In protest of the police action, the AAP will hold a protest demonstration at every district headquarters across the nation on Saturday, AAP leaders said.

The party's sharp reaction came after the police went to Kejriwal's residence saying its demand for the CCTV footage of the alleged incident of assault on Chief Secretary Anhu Prakash by AAP MlAs had not been met.AAP leader Ashutosh claimed the police had initially requested the video from the PWD department but did not take it .  Without taking the name of BJP and its leaders, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said it is "unfortunate" that some "dictators" and people with a mentality of "hooligans" have captured power, be it Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh. The AAP alleged that Delhi Police entry into the CM house  was not only illegal but also the nature and manner in which they investigated ,"smells fishy" and is done for harassing chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. AAP alleged that BJP led central government is acting like a 'dictator' but should keep in mind that such dictators are 'dethroned' by the common masses.

Training its gun on both BJP led central government and Delhi Police, the leaders from AAP reiterated that BJP is hatching conspiracy to dethrone the Delhi government and Delhi Police is working at the behest of central government. "Do not remain in any form of illusion, if raids are being made at CM residence today next time Delhi Police will enter your home. The Delhi police is working like 'Gunda' on the dictates of BJP led the central government and in order to please their political masters," said Sanjay Singh, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP. He said that Delhi Police acted biased by arresting two of AAP MlA's only on the basis of statement made by the Chief Secretary while taking no action against those involved in assaulting AAP leaders even as video evidence and MlC reports stand as evidence.

"I say to Delhi police that don't stoop to such a low as you are answerable to common public also," said Sanjay Singh.

AAP leader Ashutosh said that Delhi Police entered the CM residence without any prior notice and after entering the premises handed over a letter addressed to OSD while no post of OSD exist at CM's residence. AAP also raised questions on the way and manner in which Delhi police did its investigation inside the CM's residence alleging that it was only for "harassing" Arvind Kejriwal . "The Delhi police asked that when was the room last painted. What such things have to do with the investigation, it is only being done at the instance of central government in order to harass Kejriwal," said Ashutosh.

The AAP also played short videos which they claim are the CCTV footage from inside the CM's residence at time when Delhi Police entered for enquiry or investigation.

The AAP alleged that in the video footage the police personnel are asking questions that are irrelevant to the investigation.
