Fans of Diljit Dosanjh who feared their plans were off can relax. The singer’s October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium will go ahead as scheduled. The Delhi Police have reconsidered and granted permission for the event, a day after withholding clearance citing security concerns and law-and-order commitments during the festive season.
Ticketing platform BookMyShow Live said on Friday, October 23, 2026, that reports suggesting the concert had been cancelled were “inaccurate.” It confirmed that the police had issued permission after a “cordial and constructive meeting”.
The organisers said they had presented a detailed plan. It addressed the safety, traffic, and crowd-management measures the authorities sought. They also assured the police they would comply with all applicable requirements. “Following these discussions and the submission of the requisite plan, permission for the event has been reconsidered and issued,” BookMyShow Live said. It added that the concert would proceed as planned.
The reversal came after a letter from Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) Anant Mittal. The letter told the organisers that the police could not accept their application to hold the Delhi leg of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour. The police cited specific threat-related inputs, security commitments during the festive season, and other law-and-order concerns.
The police had examined the organisers’ application dated October 14 for the concert at JLN Stadium on October 30. The refusal had raised uncertainty over the Delhi leg of the tour. The organisers then held discussions with the police to find a way forward.
For ticket holders and fans, the clarification settles the main question. The show is not cancelled, and it is set for the original date and venue. The organisers have said the event will go ahead as planned.
The concert falls in the festive season, a period the police cited when they first declined permission. The organisers have now committed to compliance with all applicable requirements. Their plan covers safety, traffic and crowd management, the three areas the authorities had asked them to address.
Dosanjh’s Aura World Tour has seven shows planned across India. When the tour was first announced, the India leg was set to begin in Delhi-NCR on November 1, followed by Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Lucknow. The promoter later added Chandigarh to the list, though they had not shared the date or venue for that show.
