The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday said a Special PMLA Court here has taken cognizance of the Prosecution Complaint (chargesheet) filed on Wednesday by the agency against Delhi Minister Satyendar Kumar Jain, wife Poonam Jain and others on money laundering charges.

The ED initiated money laundering investigation on the basis of a CBI FIR dated August 24, 2017 against Satyendar Kumar Jain and others under the the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The ED probe revealed that during 2015-16, when Satyendar Kumar Jain was a public servant, the four companies (beneficially owned and controlled by him) received accommodation entries to the tune of Rs 4.81 crore from shell companies against cash transferred to Kolkata-based entry operators through hawala route.
