AAP MLA Atishi on Thursday lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not addressing big problems in the country like inflation and joblessness and instead focusing on bringing down State Governments.
Addressing a press conference after the AAP MLAs’ meeting at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house, Atishi said that when The New York Times praises Kejriwal’s “shiksha kranti” on its first page, every Indian takes pride in it, but today every Indian has been subjected to shame because of their story on Modi’s failure.
“On one hand there is CM Kejriwal, the reason behind the pride of every Indian, on the other there is PM Modi, being ridiculed, criticised for murdering democracy of the country. PM Modi is putting all his energy into overthrowing democratically-elected State Governments by sending the ED-CBI on hit-jobs behind Opposition leaders,” said Atishi.
She further said that an attempt is being made to bring down the AAP Government in Delhi by levelling all kinds of false allegations and making all kinds of false cases.
"India is going through a crisis as there are many big problems in front of it. The biggest crisis in front of India is inflation, which is at its peak. Today poverty is at its peak.
This country has never seen so much unemployment. It’s sad that Prime Minister Modi does not have the time to solve big problems. Instead, Modi's entire energy and hard work are focused on trying to bring down State Governments," she added.
Earlier, addressing a press conference after Kejriwal’s meeting with party MLAs at his residence, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said the BJP’s attempts to poach AAP lawmakers have failed. “Altogether 53 out of 62 MLAs were present at the meeting.
Manish Sisodia is in Himachal Pradesh and Speaker Ram Niwas Goel is outside the country. CM spoke to other MLAs over the phone and everyone said they are with Kejriwal till their last breath,” said Bharadwaj. Bharadwaj claimed that the BJP wanted to poach 40 of AAP’s 62 lawmakers in the 70-member Delhi Assembly.
“BJP leader Manoj Tiwari claimed that the scam is worth `8,000 crore. Another BJP spokesperson said that the amount is `10,000 crore. Shehzad Poonawalla claimed that the amount is `144 crore. Two days ago, Gaurav Bhatia said the scam is worth `30 crore. But the alleged amount per the CBI’s FIR is `1 crore,” said Bharadwaj.
The AAP leader said that the reality of that ` 1 crore was that one liquor shop owner has transferred that amount to another liquor shop owner through a cheque. “They are calling it a scam and alleging that this money went to Sisodia. It is absolutely ludicrous and childish,” claimed Bharadwaj. An AAP leader had earlier claimed some lawmakers were unreachable ahead of meeting without naming anyone and said party was constantly trying to reach them.
