Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has insulted veteran leaders like LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi by not letting them contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Kejriwal said that the attitude of the Prime Minister is against the Hindu culture which teaches people to respect their elders. "The way Modi is insulting LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, it is completely against the Hindu culture. Hindu culture teaches people to respect their elders and not insult them. "People are talking about why Modi is insulting Joshi and Sushma (External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj)," he said in a series of tweets.
"Those elders who build the home have been thrown out. When he cannot support his elders then who can he support," Kejriwal said in another tweet. Former BJP president and Lok Sabha MP Murli Manohar Joshi has been asked by his party to not contest the upcoming general elections, a development in line with its decision to not field many of its veterans, including its founding member and longest serving chief LK Advani, in the polls.
Meanwhile, responding to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday in which he asked what has the Delhi Government done for women safety and how many CCTV cameras have been installed in Delhi; Kejriwal reminded him that it was the Modi Government which stalled the installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi for over three years.
Kejriwal said "Modi ji stalled the installation of CCTV cameras in Delhi for more than three years.
Manish (Sisodia) and Satyendar (Jain) fasted for a week to get the CCTVs installation decision implemented. Modi Government has been sitting on the Lokpal Bill since four years. Delhi is getting free water. Please don't spread white lies like your boss," Kejriwal said. Taking on the BJP, Kejriwal said the policies of Delhi's AAP Government have ensured during last four years that on an average a family makes a saving of Rs 11,000 per month, whereas Modi Government has burdened an average family by Rs 16,000 every month.
"It was AAP Government that helped people to manage its budget by its initiatives… electricity Rs 2500, Rs 1,000 on water, Rs 5,000 as school fee (for two children), Rs 2,500 for medicine… total saving Rs 11000. But total loss to public by Modi jee is Rs 1,000 for gas, Rs 2,000 for metro, Rs 5,000 for patrol and diesel (two people each family), Rs 8,000 as inflation… total Rs 16,000", Kejriwal tweeted.
