It was a pleasant day in the national Capital with the mercury settling within normal levels even as the weatherman predicted rain for Thursday.

"The maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal while the minimum temperature settled at 29 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year," a MeT official said. The humidity levels oscillated between 78 and 57 per cent. The weatherman has predicted a cloudy sky tomorrow with possibility of rains towards the evening.

Weather condition became pleasant on Tuesday during the evening hours with the mild cool breeze blowing over most parts of the city.  During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Safdarjung Observatory recorded one mm of rainy traces but Palam Observatory did not record any rain.

However, Delhites will get  a sigh of relief  now foreseen as some light rains are anticipated to show up in parts of Delhi and adjoining regions like Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad on Wednesday and may continue for another 48 hours.

As per Skymet Weather Forecast comapny, a trough is seen extending from North Punjab up to Manipur across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and North West Bengal.

This trough is in close proximity to Delhi and hence rains may occur in parts of the capital of the country.

"The presence of a Western Disturbance in the higher levels is over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir. In addition to this, an induced cyclonic circulation is also seen over North Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana," as stated by Skymet.

All these weather systems will be responsible for bringing rains over Delhi and NCR. However, these rains will be of a short duration due to which the humidity levels will shot up.
