The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has planned to develop a commercial hub with ultra-modern facilities at Raj Nagar District Centre (RDC) situated adjoining the district headquarters. The commercial hub would house over two dozen nationalised banks and reputed food joints of international fame. The GDA has sought an in-depth study and presentation by the ANB Consultants which had developed Hazratganj as the tourists’ attraction centre at lucknow.
GDA Vice-Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav told the mediapersons in a Press conference that with the investment of Rs 20 crore, the RDC would be made the most comfortable shopping complex among the NCR towns. It would contain parking lots with convenient kiosks of international brands like Cafe Coffee Day, MacDonald, Pizza Hut and Dominos.
“A beautiful gate would be constructed at the entry point from National Highway-24 in the commercial hub. The roads are being designed to accommodate car parking in the middle of the road, containing 3-metre wide footpath and a green strip alongside the road. All the major drains would be covered with slabs so that they could be utilised as the footpath by the commuters,” he said. A multilevel parking has also been designed in view of the future growing demand in which 750 cars could be accommodated in two basements plus a ground floor where 90 additional cars would be parked.
