Plaint against traffic cops for 'extorting' money from SHO

A woman inspector posted at Greater Noida police station on Friday alleged that a team of traffic police tried to extort money from her when she was on her way from Indirapuram to Greater Noida.

The incident took place around 1:30 pm when lakshmi Chauhan, SHO of Greater Noida, was going from her Indirapuram home to Greater Noida.

“I was moving in my car when a few traffic constables and home guards stopped me near Jaipuriya crossing. I stopped my car but I noticed that they were queuing up several vehicles along the road side and extorted money from them. I was not in uniform. They took me as just another commuter,” lakhsmi Chauhan told the Pioneer.

Chauhan said that even after telling the constable that she has all the papers of the vehicle, they forcibly misbehaved with her.

“The unethical behaviour of the constable irked me and I called Superintendent of Police Dinesh Yadav and registered a complaint against them,” SHO said.
