A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked on Thursday between the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and Phogat sisters to make them corporation’s Swachchhta
(sanitation) mission’s brand ambassadors.
SDMC Commissioner Punnet Kumar Goel said that Geeta and Babita Phogat are popular across the country and this will benefit our corporation. The sisters will not only highlight our achievements but also create awareness on cleanliness.
“The Corporation is moving ahead in making our sweeping and collection of garbage and exercise more mechanical and updated. Our efforts are in tune with the Swachchh Bharat Mission and Prime Minister Narender Modi’s vision,” he said.
On this move Geeta Phogat said, “The SDMC has appointed us its brand ambassador but the Haryana Government has not yet awakened.” She stated that a sense of fear is essential to learn anything. While giving stress upon the need of eliminating open defecation she also said that construction of toilets is of prime importance.
She will be using “Ho Jaye Do Do Haath” slogan to give the message of Swachchhta in Delhi.
