Candidates who have applied for postgraduate courses in Science subjects at Delhi University are in a limbo as the dates of at least three entrance examinations, including the newly introduced Forensic Science are clashing. Fretting over the “overlapping” of examination dates, students have approached the university for solution.
The major change in the process of post graduate admissions is that the entrance examinations would be conducted outside the Capital and the matter of overlapping could create issues in other cities too, said sources.
On DU’s PG registration form, every applicant who fills in is asked to opt for multiple subjects if s/he meets the eligibility criteria. On June 20, entrance examination time table for three courses including Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry and Forensic Sciences is clashing.
“I had opted for the three papers for MSc programme and I am really worried about the clash of the entrance exam. I have come to visit Dean Student’s Welfare and they have said the enquiry should be forwarded,” an applicant, Shweta told The Pioneer.
Besides, the timing of the three papers is also same.”When I saw the day of examination for the three subjects is same, I thought I could opt for two or something but the timing for all the three papers is from 4 pm to 6 pm. This got me panicked,” she added.
Delhi University official said they have sent the complaint further to the concerning authority and would look into the matter at the earliest. The registration for the post graduate courses was concluded last month.
This is for the first time the university is going for a complete online admission process - from registration to paying of the fees in undergraduate courses while for post graduate courses.
