People visiting hospitals, malls and commercial establishments falling under the jurisdiction of the east Delhi Municipal Corporation need not pay parking fee from Friday (December 14) onwards.
The EDMC Mayor Bipin Bihari said an order has been issued to all concerned places to allow citizens to park for free.
“As per the Master Plan of Delhi- 2021, parking spaces in hospitals, malls and commercial establishments
are free of the FAR rule,
and hence, they cannot be used commercially,” the Mayor said.
Singh further informed that EDMC has issued an order, based on which any citizens can avail the parking facility in these institutes / buildings free of cost.
“If any establishment/building would be found charging for their parking service, Corporation would take stringent actions against them,” Bihari said.
