DU placement cell opens registration at a fee
The job hunting season for the students of Delhi University has finally arrived as the placement cell on Thursday opened its registrations. Students in their final year under or postgraduation or those doing research in any DU college or department can send in their details along with an affordable fee to get enrolled for placements.
The details of the placement cell registration were posted by the Dean Students’ Welfare Office by Thursday evening on the university website. While the placement cell focuses on getting students placed, it also looks at providing internships to students of the first or second year in UG, with no academic arrear.
To register on the forum, students have to fill the registration form online and pay `100 as fee. The identity card then issued by the placement cell would work as the official identity card for the student at all placement drives.
This is the seventh year of the placement cell, which covers 63 colleges and 47 postgraduate departments. The Registrar of the university on Thursday said that the aim of the central placement cell (CPC) is to provide a continuum of opportunities to students in various fields. “The CPC seeks the support of all corporate houses in its endeavour to provide suitable placements to students and help them in their competency enhancement. In addition to corporates, CPC invites NGOs, Research Organisations and the Government sector like PSUs to participate in this endeavour,” said the Registrar.
