In a circular issued by the office of the District and Sessions Judge, Patiala House Court, all the officials posted in the New Delhi District have been told to avail their casual leave in such a manner that they are evenly spread during the entire calendar year so that the need for one or two days earned leaves may not arise towards the end of the year, which is affecting the smooth functioning of the court they are posted in.
The circular issued by the Officer-in-Charge (leave) and Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) of Patiala House Courts, New Delhi District, Bharat Parashar, said that it came to the notice that officials posted in the court are availing all their casual leaves by the second or third quarter of the year and hence exhausting all the 12 casual leaves much before the end of the year and then availing earned leaves which is leading to problems in court functioning.
“It has come to the notice that some officials posted in New Delhi district are availing most of the casual leaves within the second or third quarter of the year, thereby exhausting all their 12 casual leaves much before the end of the year. Such officials then resort to availing one or two earned leaves on some or the other grounds of exigency towards the year end, ultimately affecting the smooth functioning of the Court/Branch wherein they are deputed. This is a wrong practice and must cease immediately,” the circular further stated.
The law officer further said in the circular that all the officials posted in the district are hereby directed to avail their Casual leaves (Cls) in such a manner that they are evenly spread during the entire calendar year so that the need for one of two days Earned leaves (Els) may not arise towards the end of the year.
“Non-compliance of the directions issued should be viewed seriously,” said ASJ, Bharat Parashar, in his order.
