The Delhi BJP, in most likelihood, will be contesting the Assembly polls collectively. Well placed sources confirmed the party has decided against projecting a Chief Ministerial candidate, unlike the 2008 polls.
They said a decision on party leader will be taken only after the poll results are announced.Citing the reason for this, sources said, announcing a candidate at this point of time would lead to spar among various factions that would further weaken the prospects of the party which has been eyeing to return to power after a gap of 15 years.
A senior BJP leader said appointment of Nitin Gadkari as Delhi BJP in-charge has, to some extent, helped curb infighting and projecting a candidate for the post of CM would spoil all efforts.
It is pertinent to mention that Gadkari, after holding several discussions with MlAs and other senior Delhi BJP leaders, had indicated contesting the elections collectively.
