With the arrest of two Indians and an African man, the sleuths of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Monday claimed to have busted a well-heeled gang involved in the trafficking of party drugs. A team of NCB carried out raids in West Delhi areas after getting actionable intelligence about the movement of the gang members.

According to a senior NCB official, about one kilogramme of various drugs — 215 g of methamphetamine, 180 g of cocaine and 415 g of heroin — have been seized by the agency after searches were conducted in the Uttam Nagar and Mohan Garden area of the national Capital.

The agency did not reveal the identities of the three men who were arrested but said the two Indians were first intercepted on the basis of prior inputs which led them to the African man who allegedly provided them the drugs after sourcing them from Africa.

“The three people were part of an inter-state drug syndicate operating in Delhi, the national capital region and Punjab,” the NCB official said.

Investigation is being carried out to identify other members of this gang and the suppliers, the official added.
