With sitting Noida MlA Dr Mahesh Sharma set to resign after lok Sabha election win from Gautam Buddh Nagar, major political parties have started gearing up for Assembly bypoll. Senior leaders have initiated dialogues with party cadres.
Sources in the ruling party inform that Narendra Bhati — drubbed in the lS polls — met Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to conduct a post-mortem of the poll debacle. In a game of one-upmanship, Bhati has been asked by ‘Netaji’ to identify a youth face for the race to wrest seat from BJP.
The BJP on the other hand, is confident of a win. Sources inform Pankaj Singh, son of BJP national president, Rajnath Singh, might be fielded from Noida.
Not to be outfoxed, BSP too has started organising public meetings in rural belts as the party was basted and left to cool in Badalpur, BSP supremo Mayawati’s stomping ground.
