A 35-year-old man, along with his wife and six-year-old daughter, committed suicide at their residence in South-east Delhi’s Govindpuri area on Saturday morning. Police said the man, identified as Vicky, his wife lalita and daughter Ranchi consumed a poisonous substance after which they lost conscience and were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead.
Police on Monday said the man had a strained relationship with his father over ownership of land over which the man’s father had also registered a complaint with the Senior Citizen Cell in Police Headquarters last year.
Police said the deceased couple is survived by their three-year-old son who was at a neighbour’s house at the time of the suicide.
Confirming the incident, Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) said, “We received a PCR call on Saturday around 10.15 am at Govindpuri Police station. On reaching the spot, it was found that Vicky, his wife lalita have been taken to the ESI hospital by PCR staff where they were declared brought dead. later, it was also found that their six-year-old daughter Ranchi has been taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre by another family member who too died during the course of treatment.”
