Pachauri complainant quits over 'persecution', TERI trashes charges

The Energy and Resource Think Tank (TERI) has refuted claims made by the woman researcher who  resigned from the organisation claiming that it treated her in the “worst possible manner” and harmed her “mentally and professionally.” TERI said the accusations made by the lady are “false” and “basless”.

The woman in the sexual harassment case against climate scientist RK Pachauri had earlier resigned from TERI alleging the organisation treated her badly and harmed her “mentally, professionally and economically.”

In a release, the organisation said it has till date accorded special privileges to the complainant and acceded to all her demands. The organisation has not favored anyone which

is a fact apparent from documented records.

TERI said it had provided her all the facilities during the time the case was going on and also gave her special leave with full pay for 90 days extra to her leave account. She continued her leave even after the granted period. When several reminders were sent to her, in response, she showed no inclination to resume work.

The organisation claimed that she was also given option to join its Nano Biotechnology Centre, which is nearby her home in Gurgaon.

“We would like to humbly submit that the complainant’s allegations are completely false and baseless,” it said.

In her letter to TERI HR Director Dinesh Verma, she had also alleged that the organisation has failed to ensure her safety. The organisation however has refuted her claims saying that it had been completely fair and neutral in the matter and has not favoured anyone. It termed her compliant false and baseless.
