Over 7,500 children and young people participated in a massive ‘Namo Run’ across Delhi on Saturday. The run was held as part of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. The event showcased the city’s youth energy for nation-building, according to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The ‘Viksit Delhi’ themed run began from 15 locations. It concluded at the Central Park in Connaught Place. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta welcomed the participants. She said the run was “more than a race.” It is a people’s movement to realise PM Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi’ vision, she stated.
Education and Energy Minister Ashish Sood also attended the event. Officials, coaches, and teachers were present. Participants received medals, certificates, and special awards. The Chief Minister said the massive turnout symbolises a "new India" and a "strong Delhi." It reflects the youth’s "unwavering dedication" to public service, she added. She stressed that the city’s youth took a pledge under the Tricolour at Central Park to actively contribute to the nation’s progress.
She further emphasised India can only become self-reliant and developed if young people work hard. They must play an active role in nation-building, she noted. She also remembered the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. He sacrificed his life for the country at just 23, inspiring future generations. Speaking on the occasion, Sood said the run is a symbol of collective determination. He called it public participation in building a strong Delhi. The massive youth gathering sends a clear message, he said. When young people work with dedication and self-reliance, the nation’s future will be golden, Sood concluded.
