For Dr Harsh Vardhan, who assumed the charge of Delhi BJP president on Wednesday, the party’s victory in the upcoming lok Sabha elections will be easier than ever before. Speaking to Parvez Sultan, Chief Reporter, The Pioneer soon after the announcement of his presidentship, Vardhan said there is a wave for Narendra Modi across the country and the BJP will have no difficulty in dislodging the Congress from the seat of power. He targets to score 7-0 in the Parliamentary polls slated in a couple of months from now. Here are the excerpts of the conversation with him.

How would you lead the BJP to lok Sabha polls which are just round the cornerIJ

People in Delhi and all over the country are upbeat over Narendra Modi’s candidature for the next prime minister. There is a wave in his favour and people have already made up their mind to vote for the BJP. The BJP leaders and workers will visit every household and appeal them to vote for the BJP.

How do you see BJP’s preparations for the electionsIJ

The party workers are all charged up ever since the Assembly polls in December last year. We are ready to go to polls at any point of time. Our target is to win all seven parliamentary constituencies in Delhi by huge margin.

Will you form a new team of office bearers or go ahead with the existing teamIJ

I have just assumed the charge. A decision on appointing new office bearers will only be taken after holding meeting with party workers and discussion with senior leaders.

How do you plan to counter the Aam Aadmi PartyIJ

The BJP will launch massive agitation against the doublespeak of the AAP and its leaders. They have betrayed the people of Delhi. We will go to the voters and expose the party. People of Delhi are disenchanted with Arvind Kejriwal and his party.

What will be BJP’s poll plank in the General ElectionsIJ

The party will go ruthlessly against the Congress and rampant corruption during its regime. Apart from this, water, power and rural development will be key issues in Delhi.
