BJP MlAs find Spolia’s shoulder to cry on as they vent their gripes
Several Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MlAs on Monday called on Chief Secretary (CS) of Delhi Deepak Mohan Spolia to air grievances of their respective constituencies. BJP MlAs who met the CS to put forward problems of their areas include Kulwant Rana, Sahib Singh Chauhan, RP Singh and Subhash Sachdeva.
BJP MlA RP Singh said he has raised five main problems of Delhi and said if a solution to these problems is found then it would be useful in the larger public good. Meanwhile the Chief Secretary has assured to look into their grouses.
RP Singh said that much time is lost by the common citizen in finding about the department to which his problem is related and what the contact number of that department is. Hence, a call centre should be setup whose telephone number should have first eight common digits and the last two of the Assembly constituency. It will provide a direct link to the people for registering their grievances and the call centres will forward the related grievance and get a reply within 24 hours from the related department. This call centre should also have direct contact with the office of the area legislator as well.
“The offence against women has become a big problem and there are some areas in every Assembly constituency where such offences take place. Hence, a special squad consisting of 20-30 women and men police personnel should be formed in each Assembly constituency to keep vigil on all sensitive places,” he said.
According to Singh, the problem of getting an ambulance on time and at reasonable rates in the event of sudden serious illness necessitating hospitalisation has become a cause for worry. By properly utilising the present resources, there should be one ambulance in each Assembly constituency which should provide this service at nominal charges.
“Water ATMs are being setup by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) in the national Capital. It would be better that these water ATMs also supply 20 litres sealed water jars at nominal rates. Getting admission to schools has also become a big problem in Delhi. In order to solve this problem, there should be a nodal education officer in each Assembly constituency who should help people in getting their wards admitted to Government model schools or other Government schools,” the BJP leader said.
Similarly, Kulwant Rana demanded speeding up of developmental work in his constituency and redress the grievances of the people.
