A woman member of National Student's Union of India (NSUI), the students' body of the Congress, from Chhattisgarh has alleged that NSUI national president Fairoz Khan has been abetting female members of the organisation to make sexual relationship with him in lieu of political posts.
A letter, purportedly written by the woman, with details of several WhatsApp conversations, allegedly between Khan and two others, was made viral on Sunday evening.
“The national president has not only mentally tortured me to compromise but he has also mentally tortured my younger sister to come to his room. There are many other young female activists who also faced the same but they have refrained from coming out publicly so that no other girl is molested or mentally tortured,” said the woman in her letter.
She further alleged that there is no Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in NSUI so as to discuss this harassment in party forums.
In her letter, she states, “With profound grief, I am writing this to you to inform that I have been a worker of NSUI and was national office-bearer in the last committee. I have done my journey and it will still continue because I am devoted to the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.”
Fairoz Khan, cannot be reached for his comments despite repeated attempts.
