To make life easier for its consumers, Tata Power Delhi Distribution limited (Tata Power-DDl) has introduced meter reading service via WhatsApp. With the service, consumers can send meter reading along with the photograph to the dedicated WhatsApp number 9667558009.

A Tata Power-DDl official said the service was introduced to help consumers in case meter reading was noted due to non-availability of consumers or instances like locked premises. In this case the readings shared by the consumers via WhatsApp will be marked as consumer brought reading and treated as provisional,” he said.

Sanjay Banga, CEO of Tata Power-DDl, said, “Tata Power-DDl has always cared for its consumers and listened to the consumer voice. The service has been brought keeping in view the consumer inputs of meter not being read due to locking of premises on various occasions.”

“The introduction of WhatsApp service will provide more convenience to the consumers and will be a step towards achieving customer delight,” he said.

The bill generated will also carry the same (as CB Remark), he said, adding no more than two provisional bills will be generated on the CB remark.
