A host of police stations, metro stations and schools have been challaned by the MCD after they were found to be a breeding ground for dengue-carrying mosquitoes. Moreover, touted as the biggest temple in the city, Akshardham temple has turned into the biggest breeding ground for mosquitoes in the Capital. Around 53 mosquito breeding points in the temple have been identified by the East Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Also, the MCD's waste to management plant has also been identified as one of the biggest mosquito breeding points. Till now only one challan had been issued to the temple authorities whereas the law states otherwise. As per the rules, each and every point that is identified as a breeding ground for mosquitoes should be challaned separately.

He further stressed on the MCD's failure to be able to curb this situation in the last so many years.
