nAam Aadmi Party’s national convenor on Wednesday declared that each family in Goa will get up to 300 units electricity free per month if his party is voted to power in the state Assembly elections.
“The AAP Government in Goa will give up to 300 units of free electricity in the state while ensuring 24x7 constant power supplies. All old power bills will be waived off and farmers will get free electricity. The scheme has been implemented in Delhi and that 73 per cent households in Delhi get zero bills,” he said.
Kejriwal also attacked political system of Goa and reinforced that the people of Goa are fed up with how they voted for Congress but BJP ended up forming their government in the State. He assured the people of the State of bringing a change in the State and introducing a clean political system with fresh faces.
A delegation of cashew farmers from Goa met Kejriwal and presented a memorandum where they quoted several issues related to MSP on cashew farming.
They requested Kejriwal to take this issue forward and raise their voices on behalf of the farmers.
Talking about the aspirations of the people of Goa, Kejriwal said, “Goa wants change, Goa wants clean politics. The people of Goa are seeing how the people of Delhi kicked both BJP and Congress out and brought in the clean politics of AAP.
“Today I want to give my first guarantee about the schemes that the AAP will implement if we form our Government in Goa. People are fed up with the power cuts even though Goa is a power surplus State.
People told us that the electricity rates in Goa are exorbitant and with lack of jobs and financial difficulties because of Covid, it is difficult for them to pay bills,” he said.
The Delhi Chief Minister then went on to give four guarantees to the people of the coastal State if AAP forms the Government.
In Punjab, Kejriwal promised up to 300 units of free electricity for every household every month, waiving of pending bills, 24/7 uninterrupted power supply and free electricity for farmers.
The Delhi Chief Minister also said that the party will prepare an agenda for Goa drawn from the feedback of the people. Especially targeting female voters, he said that women would be the happiest following these announcements.
Kejriwal also took the opportunity to thank the local workers and supporters of AAP for reaching out to people in the tough times of the ongoing pandemic without a thought for their own well-being.
