leT ideologue Abdul Karim Tunda, a creation of Pak Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), who is in custody of the Delhi Police, is singing like a canary and has made several sensational disclosures.
He has also confessed to have smuggled a huge volumes of Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with the active connivance of Iqbal Malik alias Kana, an aide of Dawood. Kana is housed in Karachi and runs Dawood’s FICN network in India. Major Tayib of the Pakistan Army controls the FICN operations printed in a secured press under the watchful gaze of the ISI handlers. Tunda startled his interrogators on Sunday by claiming that he was not part of lashkar’s ‘Bleed India’ conspiracy. lashkar has overlooked him in their recent anti-India plans. Instead lashkar was exploiting his oratory skills in brainwashing new recruits into launching terror strikes in India.
He was also linked to Ikram Teli arrested in lucknow by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh on charges of smuggling FICNs. Kana was sending FICN via one Iqbal Bhura by exploiting his contacts at Raxaul on the the Indo-Nepal border. Bhura belongs to the Kairana town of Western Uttar Pradesh and had escaped to Pakistan. Incidentally Kana also comes from Kairana. He was a vegetable seller who went to Pakistan in 1997 and came into contact with ISI agent Tariq, who resides at 797 Yateem Khana Chowk in Karachi. Tariq is a gunrunner and was identified after Special Cell sleuths apprehended a caravan bus driven by Swiss national Christopher loaded with 361 pistols, 369 magazines and 3,788 live rounds.
Meanwhile in a related but significant development, Delhi Police has decided to conduct a DNA test on Tunda to confirm his identity once and for all. Special Cell officers said that they will be soon be taking blood samples of Tunda’s family members and DNA fingerprinting will be done. National Investigation Agency (NIA) and officers from the central security agencies have also joined the interrogation of Tunda who is proving to be a goldmine of information about the devious designs of Pakistan and its notorious intelligence agency.
Informed sources told The Pioneer that Tunda had met lashkar chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed in the Muridke headquarters of lashkar. He was also privy to lashkar’s latest plans to launch subversive strikes across India especially during the month long festivities of Ramlila, Dussehra and Diwali. Tunda’s proximity with Hafiz Saeed, his second-in-command Zaki-ur-Rehman lakhvi and global terrorist Dawood Ibrahim will help the Indian government nail Pakistan’s role in the conspiracy and execution of 26/11 plot, officials involved in the joint interrogation of Tunda said.
Tunda’s interrogation has also led the national security agencies in identifying other covert terror networks of ISI in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal. Anti-terrorism squads of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana Police have also approached Delhi Police in seeking custody of Tunda for his interrogation into the bomb blasts that had taken place in these States. Mumbai Police too is keen to confront Tunda since his role had surfaced during the investigations of 1993 serial Mumbai blasts. He was also involved in the series of blasts in Delhi in 1997-’98, serial bombings in Uttar Pradesh, ludhiana in Punjab, Sonepat and Panipat in Haryana and the recent blasts in Hyderabad.
Tunda is believed to have provided much vital information to Indian agencies that indicate the active involvement of state actors of Pakistan in the 26/11 conspiracy. He has confirmed the role of lashkar, Hafiz Saeed and lakhvi in the terrorist strikes that shook the economic capital of India. Tunda was also linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and was seeking the active help of these ISI created terror outfits to target India and its installations. He was provided a safe house opposite Markaz-ud-Dawa in Muridke in Sheikhupura district of Punjab where lashkar runs terrorist training camps for its operative under the guise of teaching Islam.
