As part of measures to combat increasing air pollution in the city, North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) inspected various construction sites and issued challans for violations of National Green Tribunal (NGT) act.
A senior NMC official said that the civic body has also deployed tankers in each zones for sprinkling water on roads to settle down dust particles. Taking action against violators, the officials of the building department of various zones, also fined Rs 1.30 lakh for violations of MCD act after inspecting areas and found violation at 10 sites, he said.
Meanwhile, the north corporation has also organised a workshop to sensitise the staff with the importance of garbage segregation at source on Monday.
Mayor of North Delhi Gupta informed that better management of garbage is the only way towards making the city clean.
NMC Commissioner Madhup Vyas, and Additional Commissioner B M Mishra were present along with other senior officials of the Corporation.
