In order to solve traffic problem in the city, the Noida Authority on Thursday said they have directed the traffic police officials to conduct topographical and vesicular count survey on 23 traffic spots to measure congestions.
Authority officials said they have been directed to consider seven intersections out of 23 spots to decongest in the first phase where congestion is said to be high.
The officials are trying to reduce traffic woes by using traffic and road engineering.
They further added that seven highly congested points have been taken into consideration such as NIB chowk, 12/22/56 intersection, entry point of Sector-14 -A, Okhla Bairaj, Model town, Sector-51,71,52,73 intersection, City center, Sahadara drain near film city, and Botanical Garden metro station.
Authority official said the congestion is high due to under-construction of the projects falling in these areas.
NOIDA has appointed a consultant to study for required interventions like widening the roads, making slip roads, proper location of traffic lights and other resources.
“The traffic police have shared 23 identified traffic spots in the city last week. Three teams, including Noida traffic police, traffic cell engineers and an agency have been placed to conduct survey by this week. The officials will submit survey reports for seven points next week. We have directed to complete survey of rest 16 traffic spots within 15 days. Then, the officials along with district magistrate will make plans of needed resources to decongest these points,” DCEO told The Pioneer.
