In a move to quell encroachers, Noida Authority and Greater Noida Authority have chalked out a detailed plan and have decided to come down heavily on those who have encroached upon the Government land. The officials also decided to prepare a list of those areas which are facing encroachment problem these days.

It would be important to mention that encroachment has become severe problem in the district. Majority of roads and residential sectors could easily see occupied by the squatters causing delay of many developmental projects across the region. The encroachers have also constructed unauthorised colonies on Government’s land and sold them to home buyers by concealing about the ownership of the land.

The worst affected areas are 4.5 kilometre stretch from Sector 49 to Sector 82, vicinity of Atta Market, road near Sector12/22 red light, area near Sector 63 red light, border area of Sector 1, Phase-II & III area, areas near Golf Course and City Centre metro stations, Sector 11, 27, 29,39, 40, 41 51,52 and several villages of Greater Noida.

According to a senior official of Noida Authority, it has been planned to form a special team that will monitor the situation. The team will also assist police as well as authority officials.

“As we have been planning to give a beautiful look to both cities, it is necessary to remove encroachment from various parts. We have ordered authority officials and police to crackdown on those elements who have acquired any type of land illegally. Initially, we have planned to remove encroachment from markets and busy roads and later residential areas will also be included under our special drive,” said PK Agarawal, Additional CEO of Noida Authority.
