Forty-eight hours after he was kidnapped, Noida police on Sunday claimed to have rescued a two-year-old boy from the clutches of three kidnappers from Yamuna Nagar of South-East Delhi. Police have managed to arrest two of them from their hideouts where the boy was kept hostage. Police have recovered Rs1.91 lakh out of Rs5 lakh delivered as ransom and two mobile phones from their possession.

They had made ransom calls of Rs10 lakh to the victim’s father Aalam, who runs catering services business in Noida. They had threatened to kill his son if he informed the police, the police said.

The boy was kidnapped by his uncle and two of his friends from Noida’s Bahlolpur village under phase-III police station around 4.30 pm on May 26, police said.

The arrested accused have been identified as Saleem of Greater Noida’s Haldwani village and Mahfooz of Bhajanpura in North east district in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the third one Mahboob, who hails from Madhepura district in Bihar, and had plotted the kidnapping plan, is still at large.
