To compensate for the loss faced by Noida authority in supplying drinking water and maintenance of sewer system, the civic body has decided to increase water and sewerage charges.

On Thursday, the authority announced a hike in water and sewerage charges after a gap of 11 years, which will be in effect from July. Water and sewer rates have been raised to 25 per cent in village areas and 75 per cent in urban areas including MIG, HIG and duplex flats. The connection charge has also been increased by the authority. With this, Rs 30 crore additional revenue will be generated every year.
