With repair work at Noida City Centre Metro station getting delayed, commuters headed to Noida will continue to suffer. After being shut last weekend, train services at Noida City Centre Metro station will not be available for eight hours this Sunday from 6 am to 2 pm. During this period, train services on this line will be available up to Golf Course station, which is the second last station on Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre corridor. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will provide feeder bus service from Golf Course to City Centre Metro station for this duration.

“Due to the ongoing civil maintenance work at Noida City Centre Metro Station of line 3 (Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre), train services will not be available at Noida City Centre Metro station from 6 am to 2 pm on October 20. During this period, train services on this line will be available up to Golf Course Metro station. The station will be closed for commuters during this period. DMRC will, however, provide free shuttle service between Noida City Centre station and Golf Course station during this period,” said a spokesperson for DMRC.

DMRC engineers are carrying out repairs at Noida City Centre station after finding a deflection in one of its cantilever arms.

“The repair work is being carried out in two blocks. In the last traffic block taken last Sunday at the station, the DMRC completed the internal repair work and concreting of the cross girder, which needed a week to

stabilise. Subsequently, after this procedure, Metro engineers will do pre-stressing and external strengthening of this girder to ensure further and permanent strength to the work,” added the spokesperson.

However, repair work at the Metro station is expected to prolong as DMRC has not announced the date for completion of the ongoing work.

The repair work at Pillar No. 174, which was undertaken on September 16 and was likely to be completed within three weeks, has already stretched beyond a month.
