In a move to fix responsibility of Government employees to deliver within a timeframe, Noida Authority has decided to implement Citizen’s Charter by the end of March month. The Authority took the decision to avoid delay in solving complaints of the people and to fasten the work by the concerned departments.
The Authority officials said that a team has been created and a nodal officer has been appointed to making a foolproof plan. The services of all departments will be available online and delay in completing an official work within a defined timeframe could mean punishment for Noida Authority officials. Under the conditions of the Charter, officials are bound to give feedback to an applicant within the stipulated timeframe, failing which they would face serious consequences.
The Citizen’s Charter will be displayed outside every department of the Noida Authority. As per the charter, no important file will be kept pending with any officer or employee in any department of the Noida Authority for more than seven working days. The charter includes a list of services to be provided to the common man and the timeframe within which they need to be completed. All applications need to be addressed to the concerned heads of various departments who will comply by the charter within the fixed number of working days.
Rama Raman, Chairman and CEO of Noida Authority, had said that the authority wants to introduce transparency in the system and the proposed move will help in it. “As every body knows that corruption has gripped the departments, transparency is the need of the hour. The Citizen’s Charter helps in making the system transparent and reduces corruption,” said Raman in a Press conference last week.
